This recently started deal allows almost all U.S. students to purchase the best Windows OS ever for only $29.99. The average retail value for Windows 7 Home Premium Edition is around $190, so at $29.99 your getting a huge discount of about $130.

is it me, or does anyone else notice that $190.00 – $30.00 does not equal a $130 dollars saving, but $160 instead?
And anyone can get Ubuntu for $0.00.
if you have access to MSDNAA you can get win 7 business edition, 32 or 64 bit, for free. you probably have access to MSDNAA if you go to a reasonably large university and major in engineering, computer science, library & information science, or information technology.
you can also get a plethora of other MS software for free.
that said, i installed win7 to play games. i use linux and FOSS for everything else, and so should you :p
