Microsoft, it appears, is getting desperate. On November 7, the company is bundling every $199 xbox arcade system with an $100 gift card. Now don’t get too excited, the only store in which this deal applies is your local walmart. But what this allows is for anyone who buys an arcade system to buy a wireless network adapter or larger hard drive for no extra cost.
This is obviously Microsoft’s latest attempt to close the newly opened gap between themselves and the newly cheapened Playstation 3, but i’m amazed they are willing to take it this far. It always seemed to me that Microsoft prides itself in it’s overpricing, and i’m shocked that they are, granted for one day, letting people in on – dare I say – a good deal.
This is obviously a great chance for anyone who has not yet made the jump to Xbox 360, and to everyone else: just sit back and enjoy, because I am guessing this is only the beginning of Microsoft doing everything it can to beat those bastards at Sony.

So how is this Microsoft’s decision to include a $100 gift card with the Xbox? It would be safe to assume this is Walmart’s ploy to get folks into their stores for all their holiday shopping needs and not Microsoft making a pass at outselling PS3s since only Walmart is offering this deal. If this was a deal by Microsoft then their would be some sort of mail-in rebate or free goodies in the box.
